Wts... A young learners project dedicated to help students in middle and high school explore out of classroom contexts. Here you help make changes in your community by taking on the art form of documentaries.
We are looking to target students and school administrators to bring awareness and normality to mental health issues through sharing stories of those who experience them and educate the audience on the appropriate language. We will reach this goal through our documentary, website, facebook page, and presentations at local schools.
When we first started this project we didn't know where this would take us. Mental health is a touchy topic that has multiple roads to venture into, but for now working on immediate problems within communities is the place we've decided to start. For many people mental health is a "taboo" topic that seems to sensitive or awkward to talk about. We now want to change that. Removing the stigmas that surround this topic is something we plan to diminish. Bringing the needed awareness to this issue can and will help many tell their stories. In our documentary we help expose many of these stories and tell the tales of those you've hadn't had the chance.
